Noblis Ventures Invests in Sedaro: Accelerating Digital Twins for Spacecraft Design with Nobel Prize-Winning CEOs

In a major move, Noblis Ventures has invested in Sedaro, a cloud-based software startup that specializes in creating digital twins for simulation and design work. Founded in 2019, Sedaro has designed a software platform that offers users a singular architecture and environment for designing satellites and spacecraft. The terms of the investment were not disclosed, but it was announced on Tuesday.

Sedaro’s co-founder and CEO, Robbie Robertson, expressed excitement about the partnership with Noblis and how it will help accelerate the application of Sedaro’s digital twin technology. In August, Sedaro secured a $1.5 million contract with Space Force to demonstrate the use of digital twins in spacecraft design, with a focus on in-space servicing, assembly, and manufacturing missions.

Noblis Ventures is a nonprofit science and technology firm that invests in early-stage startups. Space is a key focus area for Noblis Ventures, which made its first space-specific investment in Scout Space in June. Scout Space provides vision solutions for spacecraft to collect data and track objects.

In an interview with Mile Corrigan, CEO of Noblis, he highlighted Sedaro’s tools as crucial for enhancing technology readiness in complex physical designs and expanding mission impacts for customers. Corrigan discussed Noblis’ plans for its venture arm in a podcast episode in June as part of a series on the 2023 Top 100 rankings. The collaboration between Noblis and Sedaro is expected to bring innovative solutions to the digital engineering space and drive advancements in mission capabilities for government customers.

With this new investment from Noblis Ventures, Sedaro is poised to continue its growth as one of the leading digital twin software providers for satellite design work.
