Nominations open for Star Tribune’s Annual All-Metro Sports Awards

For the past seven years, the high school sports community has honored deserving individuals with special Star Tribune awards. As we enter the eighth year, it is time to start the nomination process all over again.

The Star Tribune is currently accepting nominations for three special honors that will be announced on June 25 at the seventh annual Star Tribune All-Metro Sports Awards show at Target Field. Anyone can nominate a student, coach, leader, or special person who contributes to prep sports. The honors include The Courage in Competition Award, The Student First Award, and The Difference-Maker of the Year.

The Courage in Competition Award recognizes a student-athlete who has displayed great courage during the school year. The Student First Award focuses on academics and will be given to a student-athlete who has excelled in the classroom. The Difference-Maker of the Year award goes to a person who has shown extraordinary service and selflessness in supporting student-athletes and advancing high school athletics in their community.

Nominations are open now and can be submitted through a simple form provided on the website. After the nominations are collected, winners will be chosen by the Star Tribune Sports staff. For more information about this year’s AMSA event, visit the website provided. Thank you for taking the time to nominate these special individuals who make a difference in our high school sports community.
