Photo Concept Revealed for Northwestern’s Temporary Lakeside Football Field

Northwestern has unveiled the designs for its temporary stadium that will serve as the team’s home for the next two seasons. The stadium, which will be located on campus, will feature bleachers and stands with stunning views of Lake Michigan. It is expected to accommodate up to 15,000 spectators.

During the upcoming fall season, Northwestern will host several high-profile games at the temporary field, including Miami (Ohio), Duke, Eastern Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana. The renovated Ryan Field is set to be completed before the 2026 season.

Northwestern’s leadership is excited about the idea of the temporary field and believes it will provide a unique home field advantage and offer students and fans an entirely different experience compared to previous years. In April, Head coach David Braun stated that the temporary field creates an opportunity for the university to create a memorable atmosphere on campus that will be cherished for years to come.
