Ohio State University Shines in U.S. News and World Report Engineering Program Rankings for 2023-2024

2023-2024 Rankings Show OSU and CWRU Among Top Engineering Schools in Ohio, According to U.S. News & World Report

Ohio State University, Case Western Reserve University, the University of Dayton, the University of Akron, and the University of Cincinnati have been recognized for having some of the best graduate programs in engineering. These universities are among the top 50 rankings in the new 2023-2024 U.S. News and World Report Best Graduate Programs Rankings.

Ohio State University stands out as having the highest scores in peer and recruiter assessments, granting the most doctoral degrees, and having the highest percentage of tenure-track faculty who are elected members of the National Academy of Engineering. In addition to this recognition, only two Ohio schools saw an improvement in their rankings compared to the previous year – Case Western Reserve University moved up two spots, while the University of Cincinnati moved up 8 spots. The other Ohio engineering schools experienced a drop in rankings.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology holds the top spot as the best engineering school in the country, followed by Stanford University, the University of California, Berkeley, the California Institute of Technology, and the Georgia Institute of Technology. U.S. News evaluates schools based on research activity, faculty resources, academic achievements of students, and assessments by other engineering schools and employers. The ranking methodology is unique to the assessment of graduate engineering programs and differs from methods used for undergraduates and online master’s degrees in engineering.
