Olympic swimmers recently revealed their thoughts on the strokes they love and hate. While it may seem like swimmers enjoy every stroke, that is not always the case. Regan Smith, a standout American swimmer, made headlines at the recent U.S. Olympic swimming trials by breaking the American record and setting a new world record in the women’s 100-meter backstroke. Despite her success, Smith revealed that backstroke is a challenging stroke for her.
Katharine Berkoff, another talented swimmer, finished second in the 100 back final and is expected to join Smith on Team USA in Paris. In addition to the 100-meter backstroke, Smith is also competing in the 200-meter backstroke and 200-meter butterfly at the Olympic trials. She narrowly missed qualifying for the 100-meter butterfly but remains focused on achieving her goals at the trials.
Despite their complicated relationship with certain strokes, these athletes are dedicated to pushing themselves and striving for excellence in their respective events. The swimmers are determined to continue improving and achieving their Olympic dreams.
