Patrick Cantlay’s Olympic Gold Medalist Brother, Jordan Spieth’s John Deere Classic Appearance Marks Golf Fans’ Anticipated Return to Competition

Patrick Cantlay’s participation in the upcoming Royal Troon event has been called into question due to his recent withdrawal from the John Deere Classic. Despite this setback, Cantlay has had a successful career on the PGA Tour, boasting eight victories. He was ranked 8th in the Official World Golf Rankings prior to his withdrawal. With strong performances at the U.S. Open and the Travelers Championship, Cantlay has been a consistent performer this season, missing the cut only once in 15 starts. Although his injury appears to be minor, it will likely keep him out of competition until the British Open at Royal Troon begins on July 18th.

Golf fans can still look forward to seeing top players like Jordan Spieth in action at the John Deere Classic this week. Spieth, a former winner of the tournament, will be competing for a chance to earn a spot in the British Open. The top two players on the leaderboard by the end of the tournament who are not already exempt will secure positions in the prestigious event.
