Playmobil Sales Slide by Over 30% in Two Years, Company Struggles with Economic Uncertainty

The Horst Brandstätter Group, known for producing Playmobil toys, has released its sales figures for the past two years for the first time. In the 2023/2024 financial year, sales totaled around 490 million euros, which is a decline of about one-third from the previous year’s sales of 571 million euros and a significant drop from the 736 million euros in the year before that. Despite not disclosing any information about profits or losses, this shows that the company has been facing challenges over the past two years.

Last year, the company underwent a reorganization of its leadership and announced plans to cut around 700 jobs by 2025. It was reported that a significant portion of these job cuts have already been implemented. Like many other companies, the Horst Brandstätter Group is grappling with economic uncertainty, stubborn inflation, rising costs, and declining consumer spending.

Despite these difficulties, the company remains optimistic about the new financial year that began on April 1st. Playmobil has forecast positive results for the upcoming months due to stringent cost management in production plants resulting in significant savings and reduced inventory levels without compromising delivery capabilities. The company hopes to have a more successful year ahead.
