Roma is reportedly interested in signing 19-year-old winger Yankuba Minteh from Newcastle, with Everton potentially aiding them in the acquisition. The new Sporting Director of Roma, Florent Ghisolfi, is focused on bringing in high-quality young players at reasonable prices, making Minteh a desirable option.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Newcastle is looking to sell Minteh for around €30M, prompting interest from other clubs such as Marseille and Borussia Dortmund. However, Everton’s owner, Dan Friedkin, who is finalizing a takeover of the club, may play a significant role in Roma’s pursuit of Minteh.
If the takeover is successful, Friedkin might acquire Minteh for Everton and then loan him back to Roma. This potential move aligns with Ghisolfi’s strategy of acquiring top talent without breaking the bank and could benefit both clubs as they work together to secure Minteh’s services.
In recent years, Newcastle has been struggling financially and has been selling off some of their top players to cut costs. With Yankuba Minteh being one of their most promising young prospects, his sale could bring in much-needed cash for the club.
However, with other clubs showing interest in the young winger, Newcastle may need to negotiate a lower price if they want to sell him to Roma. The Italian club has recently signed several other young players at reasonable prices under their new Sporting Director Florent Ghisolfi.
Overall, if this potential move goes through, it could be beneficial for both Everton and Roma as they continue their pursuit of acquiring top talent while keeping their budgets in check.
