New Hampshire health officials are currently investigating a potential measles exposure in the Upper Valley area. Both Vermont and New Hampshire health officials have not confirmed any cases of measles in their states. However, the traveler may have been infectious while visiting various public places in the area from June 20-22, including Dartmouth College’s campus.
The potential exposure may have occurred at several locations in the area, including Dartmouth College campus, Hanover Inn, Hanover Scoops, Lou’s Restaurant and Bakery, and a Dartmouth Coach Bus to Boston Logan Airport. For individuals who were in these locations during the specified dates and are not vaccinated or have not had measles before, health officials recommend monitoring for symptoms. These symptoms may include high fever, cough, runny nose, watery eyes, and a body rash.
If individuals begin to feel sick, they are advised to contact their healthcare provider before seeking treatment to prevent the possible spread of the virus.
