President Biden and Vice President Harris Tackle Health Care Issues in North Carolina

President Biden and Vice President Harris traveled to North Carolina to mark the 14-year anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, but their visit was also an opportunity to criticize Republicans’ health care policies.

Biden used his speech in Raleigh, a city where his campaign narrowly lost the state in 2020, to speak out against Trump’s comments on ending Roe v. Wade and his suggestion that women who have abortions should face punishment. He emphasized the need for progress in protecting reproductive rights and ensuring access to affordable healthcare for all Americans.

The visit coincided with the anniversary of the Affordable Care Act’s passage, which Biden criticized former President Trump and Republicans for their attempts to limit abortion rights and reduce health care coverage. He highlighted Republican efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act and cut entitlement programs, stressing the importance of not taking progress for granted.

North Carolina is expected to be a key battleground in the upcoming elections, with close races for both the presidency and governorship. A recent poll showed Biden closing the gap with Trump in North Carolina, indicating a competitive race in the state.
