Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the nation on International Yoga Day, held in Srinagar this year, emphasized the importance of yoga as a force for global good. Despite the change in venue from the banks of the Dal Lake to an indoor setting due to heavy rain, PM Modi led a 30-minute yoga session focusing on this year’s theme of “Yoga for Self and Society.” This theme highlights the role of yoga in promoting individual well-being and social harmony.
In previous years, PM Modi has commemorated Yoga Day at various iconic locations across India, including Delhi, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Ranchi, and Jabalpur. Last year, he even led the celebrations at the UN Headquarters in New York, bringing global attention to the event. This year’s celebration in Srinagar is expected to further elevate the significance of International Yoga Day.
