Following the detection of high levels of E. Coli during routine seasonal water quality monitoring, a Public Health Advisory has been issued for the Gauch Park Pond located at the corner of North Quinsigamond Avenue and Main Street in Shrewsbury. The Worcester Division of Public Health (WDPH) and the Town of Shrewsbury’s Board of Health have implemented this advisory until additional laboratory tests confirm that water quality levels are safe and acceptable.
Town officials are advising individuals and their pets to avoid any contact with the affected body of water, including fishing, until further notice. It is important to heed the Public Health Advisory and refrain from any activities that could expose you to potentially harmful levels of E. Coli.
