Purdue Polytechnic PhD Student Receives Graduate Teaching Award for Exceptional Commitment to Teaching and Learning

Pragetheiswar Giri, a PhD student in Purdue Polytechnic’s School of Engineering Technology, has recently been awarded the Graduate Teaching Award by the Purdue University Teaching Academy. This recognition honors graduate students who demonstrate exceptional commitment to teaching and learning at Purdue.

Giri has been a doctoral student in the technology program since 2021 and has also secured a position as team chair in Purdue’s Graduate Student Government for the upcoming academic year. This makes him the first student from engineering technology to hold this prestigious role, highlighting his contributions to both academia and leadership.

While Giri views these achievements as personal milestones, he sees them as an opportunity to showcase the active involvement of Purdue Polytechnic in the larger university community. He is currently focused on enhancing cancer drug delivery through his research and has a passion for machine learning and robotics.

The Graduate Teaching Award recognizes graduate students who have teaching responsibilities at Purdue and are dedicated to undergraduate education. Recipients are chosen by academic departments for their commitment to excellence in teaching. The award is supported by the Teaching Academy and the Office of the Provost, emphasizing the importance of high-quality education at Purdue University.
