Racing into the Future: Addressing Internet Connectivity and Fuel Miscalculations in NASCAR

World Wide Technology Raceway recently faced internet connectivity issues during a race, causing concerns among drivers. Denny Hamlin, in particular, expressed concern about the outage affecting teams and their ability to communicate effectively. He suggested that the track needed to upgrade its infrastructure to prevent future problems.

Despite the difficulties, the race continued with Austin Cindric winning and Denny Hamlin finishing in second place. This marked Cindric’s first win since the 2022 Daytona 500 and continued Hamlin’s streak of top-five finishes for five weeks in a row.

Hamlin also discussed Ryan Blaney’s fuel situation during the race at Gateway, noting that Blaney’s team appeared to have miscalculated their fuel levels. Hamlin speculated that the crew chief had assumed there was a certain amount of fuel in the tank before the pit stop, leading to an error. By only adding one can of gas instead of two during the pit stop, Blaney fell short on fuel and missed out on a potential win.

Nick Geddes from On3 provided additional insights into the events at World Wide Technology Raceway, including details on how Blaney’s team managed to recover from their mistake and still finish third overall.

Overall, while internet connectivity issues can be frustrating for drivers and teams alike, it is important for tracks to address any technical issues as soon as possible to ensure a smooth racing experience for all involved.
