Rain-Halted at Wimbledon: Doubles Progress for Britons Cash, Glasspool and More

In a rain-affected day at Wimbledon, Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool were two of four Britons who progressed in the doubles draws. World number 39 Cash and American partner Robert Galloway won their first-round match against Theo Arribage and Marcus Daniell from France and New Zealand, respectively.

Glasspool, ranked 45th in the world, teamed up with Dutch partner Jean-Julien Rojer to secure a dominant 6-0, 6-3 victory against Guido Andreozzi and Miguel Reyes-Varela from South America. British player Henry Patten reached the third round with Harri Heliovaara, defeating Pedro Martinez and Jaume Munar from Spain in a tight match.

Olivia Nicholls and Tereza Mihalikova advanced to the third round of the women’s doubles with a dominant 6-2, 6-0 win over Magda Linette from Poland and Peyton Stearns from the United States. Unfortunately, rain halted play for Charles Broom and Arthur Fery’s men’s doubles match, while Eden Silva and Samantha Murray Sharan were trailing the eighth-seeded team of Barbora Krejcikova and Laura Siegemund.

Mixed doubles matches for Glasspool and Harriet Dart, as well as Marcus Willis and Alicia Barnett
