Rare iOS Bug Resurrects Deleted Photos, Singapore Airlines Apologizes for Flight Death: Top Tech and Science News Today

Apple has released a security update to address a bug that was causing deleted photos on iPhones and iPads to reappear. The iOS 17.5.1 patch was issued after reports of photos reappearing on devices’ camera rolls, even years after they were deleted. Apple has acknowledged the issue as a rare one caused by database corruption.

In other news, Singapore Airlines CEO Goh Choon Phong has publicly apologized after a flight from Heathrow Airport to Singapore was hit by extreme turbulence. Sadly, a British man named Geoff Kitchen, 73, from Bristol, passed away from a suspected heart attack during the incident. Seven others were seriously injured, with dozens more sustaining minor wounds. The plane experienced a sudden drop in altitude over Myanmar due to severe thunderstorms in the area.
