The 14th Shanghai University Student Entrepreneurship Plan Competition held its final round at Donghua University, attracting over 68,000 students from 78 universities and vocational schools in the city. This year’s competition saw a record number of participants, with more than 25,000 programs submitted. The competition was co-hosted by the Shanghai Committee of the Communist Youth League of China and various departments in the city, including education, science and technology, human resources, and social security.

The competition had five tracks focusing on technical innovation, future industries, and rural revival and modernization. Key issues addressed in the competition included ecological civilization, green and low-carbon development, cultural creativity, regional trade and collaboration, social governance, and public services. One postgraduate student named Zhong from Shanghai University of Engineering Science expressed that the competition was not only inspiring but also a rare opportunity for participants to highlight their strengths and skills.

Zhong and two of his classmates brought a hydrophobic aluminum film solution to the competition. The top teams from the competition were chosen to represent Shanghai at the national entrepreneurship competition in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province in September. Zhong stated that it was an honor to be selected as one of the top teams representing Shanghai at this national level event. He added that he felt grateful for this opportunity to showcase his talents to such a large audience.
