Red Bluff’s Sip Coffee Bar Joins National Efforts to Prevent Child Abuse: Go Blue Day Success!

April is “Child Abuse Prevention Month,” and this year, the Alliance for Children has designated Friday, April 5 as “Go Blue Day.” This day encourages people to wear blue in support of the commitment to preventing child abuse. In Red Bluff, a local business partnered with Tehema County 4 Kids to raise money for child abuse prevention efforts.

Sip Coffee Bar, located on Walnut Street in Red Bluff, is co-owned by Erica Atwell and Michelle McNeal. On April 5, they donated 30% of all proceeds to Tehema County 4 Kids. By the end of the day, they had donated $350. This was the first year they participated in the event and they hope to continue doing so annually. Atwell and McNeal expressed their gratitude for being able to give back to the community.

The owners were pleased with the community turnout on Go Blue Day, with many customers showing their support for the cause. Tehama County 4 Kids welcomes anyone interested in being a part of the child abuse prevention council to attend their monthly meetings. Meetings are held at the Department for Education building in Red Bluff on the third Wednesday of every month at 8:30 a.m. The next meeting is scheduled for April 17.
