Reno’s New Public Health Officer: Bringing a Decade of Experience and a Vision for Change to the Silver State

Kingsley, a native of Las Vegas, is thrilled to return home and make a difference in the community. He has dedicated his career to improving the lives of citizens in Reno, Sparks, and Washoe as the public health officer. Before taking on this role, Kingsley served as the public health director for Mohave County in Kingman, Arizona. In his previous position, he worked with the Southern Nevada Health District for a decade, managing crises such as salmonella outbreaks and an active tuberculosis case.

Kingsley’s vision for public health is focused on prevention and promotion. He believes that financial sustainability is crucial in increasing access to healthcare services for all communities. Despite the challenges of working in public health, Kingsley remains committed to preventing diseases and promoting healthy lifestyles to ensure longevity and career advancement opportunities for families.

Kingsley holds a medical degree from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in Mexico and a master of business administration from Western Governors University. His experience working with underserved and tribal communities has given him valuable insights into cultural barriers within healthcare systems. Kingsley emphasizes the importance of collaboration, trustworthiness, and understanding cultural nuances when working with minority communities.

Excited about exploring northern Nevada and starting a new chapter with his family, Kingsley looks forward to making a positive impact on the community he calls home once again.
