Resilient Senior Wins WPIAL and PIAA Titles in Cross Country, Qualifies for National Championships

Top Performer in Girls Cross Country: Logan St. John Represents Mt. Lebanon

As a senior at Mt. Lebanon High School, Logan St. John Kletter had an impressive cross country season, excelling at the local, regional, and national levels despite dealing with a nagging hip injury. Her determination and resilience paid off as she defended her WPIAL championship title and clinched the PIAA title as well.

At the WPIAL Championships held on Oct. 26 at White Oak Park, St. John Kletter secured victory with a time of 17:47.40, finishing over six seconds ahead of the runner-up. Her performance helped Mt. Lebanon to a second-place finish in the team standings. On Nov. 4, she raced at a 5:52 pace to finish first in 18:13 at the PIAA Championships and become the state champion.

Following her state title win, St. John Kletter continued to impress at the regional and national levels, finishing fourth at the Northeast Regional to qualify for the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships in San Diego. She placed 34th in the national championships, showcasing her talent on a broader stage while maintaining her excellence both on and off the field as an honors student with a 4.9 GPA.

Coach Oscar Shutt praised St. John Kletter for her accomplishments, mentioning that she used her setbacks as motivation to achieve success and culminated in her state cross country title win as a senior.”
