Revolutionizing Electric Mobility: Volkswagen’s Entry-Level Electric Car to Hit the Market in 2027

Volkswagen aims to debut electric car at 20,000 euros

In 2027, Europe’s largest carmaker, Volkswagen, will introduce its entry-level electric car to the world. The vehicle is set to cost around 20,000 euros and will be manufactured in Europe as part of VW’s commitment to the continent as an industrial hub.

According to Oliver Blume, CEO of Volkswagen, the importance of offering affordable electric vehicles cannot be overstated. The new electric car from the core brand group that includes VW, Škoda, Seat, and Cupra aims to fulfill this promise and promote widespread adoption of electric mobility.

While the specific model from the core brand group has not been confirmed yet, it was hinted in March that a small car priced at 20,000 euros would be introduced in 2027. The upcoming VW ID. 1 will play a significant role in the entry-level electric car market and compete against similar offerings from China. Additionally, a related Skoda model is expected to fill the gap left by the discontinued Citigo subcompact car.
