Lummus Technology has licensed the innovative Thermal Crude to Chemicals (TC2C™) technology to MOGAS Industries, which has recently been awarded a multimillion-dollar contract for the South Korean S-Oil Shaheen project. This technology converts whole crude and other refinery orphan streams into high-value olefin and aromatic products. The project also includes one of the world’s largest steam crackers.
MOGAS will provide over ninety severe service valves and actuation packages for the project, including multiple fast-acting, metal-seated emergency shutdown valves. CEO Matt Mogas expressed pride in being a part of Aramco’s significant investment in South Korea and the first TC2C™ process plant. He stated that this investment aligns with the green economy by supporting clean heavy crude upgrading.
The S-Oil Shaheen project represents a major milestone for both Lummus Technology and MOGAS Industries, as it showcases their expertise in downstream processing and licensing of innovative technologies. This contract falls under the categories of Downstream news and Downstream contract news, highlighting the importance of collaboration between companies in driving technological advancements in the oil and gas industry.
