Riding Rough: UCI Gravel World Series Conquers Hegau

Jonas Koch and Carolin Schiff triumph in Hegau at UCI Gravel World Series

The Hegau Gravel Race, the second round of the UCI Gravel World Series, took place in Singen, Germany. The race was won by Carolin Schiff of Canyon CLLCTV and Jonas Koch of Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe.

In the women’s race, Schiff finished with a one-second lead over Janine Schneider of VC Singen, Embrace the World. Maaike Colje of Arkea B&B Hotels finished in third place.

The men’s race was won by Koch with a 38-second lead over Daan Soete of Grobbendonk. Petr Vakoc of Canyon Integray L27 finished in second place.

The gravel race covered a distance of 136km and included two 52km laps and one 32km lap, with a total elevation gain of 2710m. The UCI Gravel World Series offers opportunities to qualify for the UCI Gravel World Championships in Belgium on October 5-6.
