Risk Management Expert William Saufley Returns to Kennebunk Savings as Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer

Kennebunk Savings welcomes back a familiar face to the business

Kennebunk Savings has recently appointed William Saufley, Esq. as its executive vice president and chief risk officer. Saufley is not new to the bank, having previously worked there from December 2007 to November 2012. Initially serving as senior vice president of project management, he later became the bank’s first chief risk officer in November 2008, a position he has now returned to.

In a statement, Saufley expressed his deep respect for the leadership at Kennebunk Savings and their commitment to customers, employees, and the community, which align with his own values. He mentioned that it is exciting for him to be back at the bank.

As the chief risk officer, Saufley’s responsibilities include overseeing the bank’s risk management operations, internal audits, regulatory examinations, integrating risk concepts into strategic planning, and identifying and mitigating risks. His exceptional leadership and decision-making skills are expected to play a vital role in ensuring the bank’s continued growth, according to Lex Meagher, president of Kennebunk Savings.

Saufley holds a bachelor of arts degree from Dartmouth College and a Juris Doctor from the University of Maine School of Law. With 16 years of experience as general counsel at various financial institutions
