Rutgers Football Adds Two Defensive Linemen to Its Recruiting Class with Braxton Kyle and Jyon Simon

Rutgers football lands commitment from Georgia defensive lineman Braxton Kyle

On Saturday, Rutgers football received a significant boost as Braxton Kyle became the second commitment from the weekend’s official visits. Kyle’s commitment followed that of defensive lineman Miron Gurman, a three-star recruit from New York who committed in the afternoon on Saturday.

As a junior last season, Kyle recorded 75 total tackles and 13 sacks in 22 games while playing for North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, Georgia. Kyle had received offers from schools like Appalachian State, Bowling Green, Marshall, Troy, and UAB, but Rutgers was his first Power Five offer, which he accepted in early March.

Kyle announced his commitment to Rutgers on social media and now joins two other defensive linemen in Rutgers’ recruiting class. Adding depth and talent to the team, Kyle’s commitment bodes well for the future of Rutgers football as they continue to build a competitive team in the Big Ten conference. In addition to Kyle’s commitment, three-star offensive lineman Jyon Simon from Florida had committed to Rutgers in mid-April. The commitments of Kyle and Simon reflect a strong recruiting effort by Rutgers as they seek to strengthen their roster for future success on the field.
