As the summer months approach, Americans are gearing up for their annual hot dog season. Consuming approximately 7 billion hot dogs and generating around $614 million in sales between Memorial Day and Labor Day, it’s no surprise that this time of year is all about the sausage.
In preparation for my Fourth of July cookout, I decided to conduct a taste test to determine which beef hot dog brand offered the most value for my money. With four different brands on the market – Applegate, Sabrett, Nathan’s, and Ball Park – I set out to sample each one and see which one stood out from the rest.
One of the first things I noticed was the thickness of each brand’s frank. Ball Park had by far the thickest frank, but it didn’t quite meet my expectations when it came to flavor given its higher price tag. On the other hand, Applegate’s organic hot dogs were by far the most flavorful of the bunch.
As I sampled each brand in preparation for my ranking, I found myself drawn back to Applegate time and again. Their unique qualities set them apart from the others and made them stand out as a top choice for any cookout or barbecue. In conclusion, if you’re looking for a beef hot dog that offers both flavor and value for your money, look no further than Applegate.
