Serving Up Quality Journalism: The Brainerd Dispatch’s 139-Year Legacy and Commitment to Community

Warriors triumph over Spartans in Girls Lacrosse match – Brainerd Dispatch

Since its inception in 1881, a few days before Christmas, the Brainerd Dispatch has been committed to serving the community through local journalism. The newspaper began as a daily paper two years later and remains dedicated to delivering news, weather, sports, videos, photos, podcasts and social media updates related to central Minnesota. The content of the newspaper focuses on local stories about the community’s residents, lakes, challenges and opportunities.

To ensure that readers are connected and informed, a team of dedicated individuals works tirelessly every morning to deliver the newspaper in print or digitally through an e-edition, app or on the website. While some stories may require minimal or no reporting, the “staff” byline is used when there are multiple authors or sources utilized. External sources are acknowledged within each story to provide transparency and accuracy.

The Brainerd Dispatch has undergone many changes over the years but has remained steadfast in its commitment to providing quality journalism that serves the community well.
