Seven Dead, Dozens Injured in Israeli Attacks on Shujaiya Neighborhood in Gaza

In the southern end of Gaza Strip, at least seven people have been killed in Israeli attacks. The Israeli Army is continuing its offensive in Shujaiya neighborhood, where it has been operating since last Thursday. It’s reported that the army has killed dozens of alleged combatants in Shujaiya through hand-to-hand combat and aerial fire.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza, controlled by Hamas, reports that the total casualties since the beginning of the war stand at 37,877 dead and 86,969 wounded. Over the weekend, Israeli troops raided a UN school in Shujaiya where they found weapons and valuable intelligence documents. The army accused Hamas militiamen of embedding themselves in civil structures for terrorist purposes.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israeli forces are operating throughout Gaza Strip, eliminating dozens of terrorists every day. He added that ongoing operations have left Gaza devastated, with residential buildings, schools and hospitals reduced to rubble posing a risk of famine for the Gazan population.
