Shining a Spotlight on Santa Maria’s Outstanding Local Small Businesses of the Quarter: Arrow Plumbing Drain & Repair Service and Trojan Petroleum

In recognition of their outstanding contributions to the Santa Maria community, Arrow Plumbing Drain & Repair Service and Trojan Petroleum have been named the local businesses of the quarter between April and June 2024.

Arrow Plumbing Drain & Repair Service, founded by Daniel Keuma in 1991, has expanded from a one-truck operation to a fleet of seven trucks and eight employees. Located at 320 Oak St. in Santa Maria, the company offers a range of services to both residential and commercial customers while actively supporting community events and charities.

Trojan Petroleum, established 43 years ago by Bud and Ebba Richards, is a full-service petroleum distributor specializing in delivering fuel to farm locations and job sites throughout Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. The company is also an independently owned Pacific Pride cardlock site with 15 delivery trucks. Trojan Petroleum is committed to giving back to the community through membership in various local civic groups.

The recognition of these local small businesses takes place four times a year through the Chamber of Commerce program, which has specific criteria for selection, including having fewer than 20 employees, being in operation for a minimum of five years, being physically located within the city limits, and being a member in good standing of the local Chamber of Commerce. This recognition not only provides exposure for these businesses but also serves as a reminder to the community of the diverse and long-standing businesses that contribute to the city’s economy.

The full recognition ceremony can be viewed through the City’s livestream of the Tuesday City Council meeting accessible on the City of Santa Maria website. This particular City Council meeting was recorded on April 16, 2024 at Santa Maria City Hall Chambers. More information can be found on CityofSantaMaria.org.
