Sincere Aqua’s SC-4K Shrimp Counter: The Future of Sustainable Shrimp Farming

German shrimp RAS system embraces Danish shrimp counting technology

Sincere Aqua’s SC-4K Shrimp Counter is a revolutionary device that utilizes advanced sensor technology, artificial intelligence, and computer vision to provide accurate shrimp counts during the transfer from nursery to the grow-out stage. This cutting-edge technology allows farmers to know exactly how many shrimp they have, making their work easier and more efficient.

HanseGarnelen, an RAS facility operator, faced a common challenge in shrimp farming: accurately determining stocking density. Miscounts can lead to overstocking or understocking, impacting the farm’s productivity. To address this issue, HanseGarneren dedicated significant time to manually estimating shrimp numbers, taking workers away from more productive tasks.

The SC-4K Shrimp Counter can count 200,000 shrimp per hour with at least 95 percent accuracy for shrimp sizes between 0.1 and 5 grams. Knowing the exact shrimp count per tank ensures each shrimp has enough space and the right level of feed, helping them grow quickly and reducing the risk of diseases. Karl Bissa, operations manager at HanseGarneren, noted the significant time savings and accuracy improvements the shrimp counter has brought to their operation.

With the SC-4K Shrimp Counter’s help, farms are moving towards precision-led and sustainable aquaculture practices. Fridi Mellemgaard, CEO of Sincere Aqua stated that they are proud to see how their technology is making a tangible difference in shrimp farming operations around the world.
