Reports from both ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and The Athletic’s Shams Charania suggest that Joel Embiid is on the brink of returning to the court for the Philadelphia 76ers. If not, it is anticipated that he will be back in action before the end of the regular season, allowing him to get ready for the playoffs.
Embiid has been sidelined due to a torn left lateral meniscus since February 1 following surgery. Prior to his injury, he was having an exceptional season, showing MVP-level performance with averages of 35.3 points and 11.5 rebounds per game.
The 76ers have struggled in his absence, going 11-18 and dropping to the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference. The team will likely have to go through the Play-In Tournament to secure a spot in the playoffs, probably facing the Celtics or Bucks in the first round. Currently, the 76ers trail the No. 7 seed Heat by 1.5 games and the No. 6 seed Pacers by two games with only seven games remaining.
Despite these challenges, it is expected that Philadelphia will make it out of the Play-In Tournament with a healthy Embiid alongside Tyrese Maxey and their other players on board ready to take on Boston and Milwaukee in
