Small Businesses Urge Congress to Make Tax Relief Measure Permanent: NFIB Members Lobby for the Small Business Deduction in DC

Small business owners across the country are urging Congress to take action and make the Small Business Deduction permanent. The critical tax relief measure, set to expire in 2025, is a lifeline for small businesses that need certainty in their tax planning. Without it, small businesses may have to restrict their growth, investment, and hiring plans.

To advocate for the Small Business Deduction, over 100 NFIB members will be meeting with legislators in Washington, D.C., next week. NFIB President Brad Close emphasizes the importance of this deduction for small businesses and encourages small business owners to join this effort by flooding Congress with emails explaining why saving this deduction is crucial.

One small business owner, Michael Ervin of Coal River Coffee Co., has seen firsthand how the Small Business Deduction has positively impacted his business. Since 2018, he has been able to invest in his employees and community thanks to the deduction’s savings that allowed him to grow and expand his business. The deduction has been a game-changer for Ervin’s company and many other small businesses across the country.

Small business owners can make a difference by taking action now by emailing their legislators and sharing how tax relief savings have benefited their businesses. By working together to advocate for the Small Business Deduction, small businesses can ensure that they continue to receive the support they need to thrive and succeed in a competitive marketplace.
