Southeast Bulloch High School’s STEM Club Takes Home Class A State Championship at Georgia Science Olympiad

The STEM Club at Southeast Bulloch High School had a tremendous success at the Georgia Science Olympiad, winning the Class A state championship. The event took place on March 30 at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and the club’s members earned medals in 14 out of 24 individual events.

The impressive medal tally included eight first-place finishes, two second-place medals, and four third-place finishes. Danielle Hibbs-Heiser, a science teacher at Southeast Bulloch and the club’s STEM coach, praised the students for their remarkable achievement.

The Georgia Science Olympiad is a competitive yet enjoyable platform for students to enhance their knowledge in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The event is open to students in grades 3-12, with various competitions held throughout the school year.

Among the student teams who medaled at the event were Joseph Reddin and Krupa Pandya in Detector Building, Isabelle Cruz and John Toole in Dynamic Planet, Chris Reyes and Ethan Pryor in Flight, Emma Grace Lowe and Ohm Pandya in Microbe Mission, Thom Mortimore and John Toole in Optics, Joseph Reddin and Quinn Stoy in Robot Tour, Mina Griner and Mattie Shaw in Tower, and Ethan Pryor and Ohm Pandya in Wind Power. Additionally, Ethan Pryor and Quinn Story placed second in Air Trajectory.
