On Monday, Miss Sweet Potato Pie World, a new tenant at Marketplace Mall, held its grand opening. The venue, located near the mall’s east entrance, focuses on children’s entertainment and education. The establishment will host birthday parties, graduation celebrations, and other events.
The concept for this business was developed by Dianne Snowden-Johnson, a teacher at the Rochester City School District who has been entertaining as Miss Sweet Potato Pie at various events in town for over twenty years. The new venue will operate from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and will be closed on Sundays and Mondays.
The grand opening event included appearances by Miss Sweet Potato Pie, DJ music, food, and party favors.
