Tackling Health Equity: How the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and TKG are Leading the Way

As the largest healthcare payer in the US, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) sets the standard for health equity data collection. However, measuring health equity remains a challenge for healthcare leaders. The Kinetix Group (TKG), a leading healthcare strategic advisory and marketing agency, has recently launched its new health equity blog series, “Keeping Health Equity Front and Center,” to help decision-makers stay informed on changing CMS guidance and understand the shifting equity trends in the fast-paced healthcare landscape.

Chloe Sweetnam, senior manager at TKG, expressed her excitement about supporting customers dedicated to addressing health equity. With CMS working on improving health equity data collection, it is crucial to understand the challenges faced by health systems and offer support on their journey towards better health outcomes. TKG has been recognized for its health equity initiatives and has created inclusive healthcare education materials to empower patient communities impacted by disparities.

The first blog in the series focuses on strategies to collect quality health equity data, including navigating Inpatient Quality Reporting measures and optimizing hospital health equity data collection. JP Strapp, managing director at TKG, hopes that by sharing insights and best practices tailored to hospital stakeholders, there will be accelerated advancement of health equity for hospitals and health systems.
