Tang Qianting’s Journey to an Olympic Gold Medal: Overcoming Adversity and Finding Her Confidence

Tang Qianting, a 20-year-old swimmer on the Chinese Olympic team, is training in Shanghai to improve upon their six-medal performance in Tokyo three years ago. Among the athletes is Tang, who recently won her first individual World Championships gold medal in Doha.

In an interview with China Media Group, Tang expressed her confidence and motivation heading into the Paris Olympics. She credits her success in Doha for giving her a boost in self-confidence and a hunger for more training. Tang has always dreamed of winning an Olympic gold medal since she started swimming as a child, and she is determined to give her all to achieve that dream in Paris.

Unlike many of her teammates, Tang was not among the Chinese swimmers who tested positive for the banned substance TMZ earlier in the year. Despite finishing 10th in the women’s 100m breaststroke in Tokyo, Tang is focused on performing well in Paris with a relaxed mindset. She believes that maintaining this mindset will help her reach her peak performance and enjoy the journey to potentially winning an Olympic gold medal.
