The 2024 IIHF Men’s World Championship: Czechia and Switzerland Face Off for Gold in a Clash of Underdogs

The 2024 IIHF Men’s World Championship is coming to a close, and the final match is set to take place in Prague at the Prague Arena on Sunday, May 26 at 2 p.m. ET. Host Czechia will face off against Switzerland in the Gold Medal Game, with both teams determined to come out on top.

Despite being considered underdogs, Switzerland managed to secure a spot in the final by defeating their opponents in a shootout during the semifinals. This will be their first chance at gold since 2018. On the other hand, Czechia is making its return to the final for the first time since winning gold in 2010. With a strong showing in the semis against Sweden, Czechia hopes to become only the second host nation to win the championship in three years.

In addition to the Gold Medal Game, there will also be a Bronze Medal Game taking place earlier in the day at 9 a.m. ET. Canada and Sweden will face off in this game, with Canada looking to secure its fourth consecutive medal and Sweden hoping to earn its first medal since winning gold in 2018. The game will also be broadcast on the NHL Network and available for streaming on various platforms.

The excitement builds as these two teams prepare to battle it out for supremacy at the IIHF Men’s World Championship!
