The Bengals Strengthen their Defense with key Additions and Signings in the 2024 Offseason

Second-round selection Kris Jenkins signs with Bengals

The Bengals made a series of key moves this week, bolstering their defense with the addition of several new players. Ted Karras signed a contract extension, while defensive tackle Kris Jenkins was brought on board with a four-year deal. Jenkins, a 2024 draft pick, was a standout player for Michigan during their recent college playoff appearances and is expected to bring additional strength to the Bengals’ defensive lineup.

Jenkins recorded an impressive 113 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, an interception, and a fumble recovery in just 43 games with the Wolverines. This level of performance is sure to be valuable for the Bengals as they aim to compete at a high level in the upcoming season.

In addition to Jenkins, the Bengals also welcomed two other new additions to their defensive tackle group: veteran Sheldon Rankins and third-round pick McKinnley Jackson. With returning players B.J. Hill, Zach Carter, and Jay Tufele from last season, the Bengals are looking strong on defense and poised for success in 2024.
