The Future of Networking: How QR Codes are Changing the Game in Business and Creativity

Networking Events are adopting LinkedIn QR Codes as the new alternative to traditional Business Cards.

In recent years, the use of QR codes for networking purposes has become increasingly popular. No longer do we need to carry around printed cards with our contact information; instead, we can easily connect with others through LinkedIn QR codes that direct back to our profiles. I recently attended VidCon, a creator conference in Anaheim, California, where I had the opportunity to network with industry professionals and fellow creators.

I was first introduced to LinkedIn QR codes last June at Open Sauce, an annual STEM conference for content creators. Since then, I have encountered many creators promoting their social media accounts using QR codes on their phones or distributing physical stickers with the code. At VidCon, I used the LinkedIn-provided QR code to connect with people effortlessly by saving it to my photos and sharing it whenever someone requested my email address or business card. This led to an increase in my LinkedIn connections and followers and has provided me with an easy way to maintain communication with them.

The popularity of LinkedIn QR codes is not limited to creator circles alone. My editor also experienced its effectiveness while attending two sports and gambling conferences where executives and professionals used them to connect with one another, emphasizing its practicality as a networking tool that minimizes the risk of losing contact information.

Compared to traditional business cards, LinkedIn QR codes offer a more efficient and cost-effective networking tool that allows us to easily share our information without having to worry about losing or misplacing any physical copies. To utilize this feature for networking purposes, simply open the LinkedIn app on your mobile device, tap the search bar, and click on the QR icon on the right. Once there you will find a QR code linked to your profile that can be readily accessed or saved as an image for easy sharing.
