Rookie Zane Smith secured an impressive second-place finish in Sunday night’s NASCAR Cup race at Nashville Superspeedway, followed by Tyler Reddick in third, Ryan Preece in fourth, and Chris Buescher rounding out the top five. Joey Logano emerged victorious after a series-record five overtimes before the checkered flag flew.
Christopher Bell dominated both stages of the race but unfortunately crashed in the third stage, ultimately finishing in 36th place and ending his streak of five consecutive top-10 finishes. Logano’s win not only secured his spot in the playoffs but also shifted the playoff cutline, moving him ahead in the standings. With Logano’s victory, he became the 11th driver to secure a playoff spot through a win.
With just five spots remaining via points with seven races left in the season, Alex Bowman now holds the final playoff spot. Bubba Wallace trails by 51 points in first place outside of playoff contention. Chase Briscoe is 78 points behind Bowman and Kyle Busch is 104 points behind as the battle for playoff positions heats up.
