Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl Hosts Prestigious Annual Bowl Season Meetings, Boosting Local Economy in El Paso

The annual bowl season meetings have come to an end in El Paso, Texas. For the first time, the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl hosted the event, drawing hundreds of people to the borderland and generating tens of thousands of dollars for the local economy. Representatives from major bowls like the Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, and Sugar Bowl gathered in El Paso for the three-day convention.

In total, representatives from all 43 bowl games attended the event in El Paso, with activities taking place at the El Paso Convention Center and the Paso Del Norte Hotel. The Arizona Bowl in Tucson, a regional event in the border southwest, also participated in the meetings. They are eager to get borderland teams to play in their game, hosting New Mexico State football team next year.

Kym Adair, executive director of the Arizona Bowl highlighted how convenient their location in Tucson is for fans from the borderland to come and support their teams. Bernie Olivas, executive director of the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl expressed their excitement about hosting this prestigious event in El Paso. He noted how significant it was for visitors from across country to see this beautiful city’s appeal.
