Mayor G.T. Bynum to Transition to Saint Francis Health Systems after Term Ends

Saint Francis Health System has announced the appointment of Tulsa City Mayor G.T. Bynum as Vice President of Community and Government Affairs once his term ends in 2024. Bynum expressed his admiration for the health system, its team, mission, and culture of excellence that has been cultivated over the past 64 years.

During his tenure as mayor, Bynum led important initiatives such as the Vision Renewal Capital Campaign and Improve Our Tulsa, which made significant investments in the city’s infrastructure. He also guided the city through challenges such as the Father’s Day storm and the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to becoming mayor, Bynum served on the Tulsa City Council for eight years, where he made history as the youngest elected City Council chair. He comes from a family with a legacy of public service, with three previous generations serving as mayor of Tulsa.

Saint Francis Health System President and CEO Dr. Cliff Robertson expressed his excitement about Bynum joining their team, citing his leadership qualities and strategic decision-making abilities. Robertson had previously worked closely with Bynum following a tragedy in 2022 where he witnessed firsthand Bynum’s compassion and dedication to the community.

As Bynum prepares to transition into his new role at Saint Francis Health System, he remains committed to serving the community and making a positive impact. His experience and leadership will undoubtedly contribute to the continued success and growth of the health system.
