UAE Leads the Way in Civil Aviation Sector in Middle East and North Africa Region

The UAE Tops the World in “Quality of Air Transport Infrastructure”

In the Middle East and North Africa region, the UAE has achieved top rankings in various competitive indicators related to the civil aviation sector. The country ranked first in indicators like “Number of operating airlines” and “Air transport agreements.” Additionally, it ranked third in indicators such as “Efficiency of air transport services” and “Number of seats for international flights departing weekly/in kilometres.”

The success of the sector can be attributed to the wise leadership and their directives. Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Civil Aviation Authority, expressed his gratitude for their support. He emphasized the importance of continuous investment, modern technology adoption, and service improvement to maintain the country’s competitive edge in the aviation industry.

Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, highlighted the efforts made by the authority and its partners to enhance the sector’s infrastructure, expand partnerships, and connect with new markets. He expressed commitment to ongoing improvement and development to uphold the UAE’s position as a major hub for travel and tourism regionally and internationally.
