UCF Football Team Focuses on Rebuilding its Receiving Corps Amidst Changes and Eligibility Issues

As summer approaches, the UCF football team is focusing on its receiving corps. With Javon Baker departing, Kobe Hudson and Xavier Townsend will take on larger roles as the team’s top targets. Coach Gus Malzahn is excited to see Hudson step up to this leadership position and develop a strong connection with quarterback KJ Jefferson.

Apart from Hudson and Townsend, Trent Whittemore and Jarrad Baker are also expected to play significant roles in the receiving group. Chauncey Magwood and Tyree Patterson will contribute, while transfers Jacoby Jones and Ja’Varrius Johnson add depth to the lineup. Early enrollees Bredell Richardson, Kason Stokes, and Jordyn Bridgewater have impressed during spring practices.

The Knights have undergone several changes due to eligibility issues and transfers. The projected depth chart for the upcoming season includes players like Hudson, Townsend, Whittemore, Richardson, Baker, and Jones. The team is focused on building chemistry and cohesion among their receivers as they prepare for summer workouts.
