UFC 303 Postpones Welterweight Bout between Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor due to Injury

McGregor withdraws from Chandler matchup

Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor were set to face off in the welterweight bout at UFC 303 on June 29th. However, McGregor suffered an injury that forced him to withdraw from the fight, marking the first time he had to cancel a bout due to injury. The original co-main event between Jamahal Hill and Carlos Ulberg was also called off due to a knee injury sustained by Hill.

In light of these cancellations, two new fights have been announced as replacements. In the main event, Alex Pereira will defend his light-heavyweight title against Jiri Prochazka. The new co-main event will feature a featherweight bout between Brian Ortega and Diego Lopes.

Despite the disappointment of McGregor’s cancellation, fans are still looking forward to the welterweight bout between Ian Garry and Michael ‘Venom’ Page, which is still set to take place during fight week in Las Vegas. Overall, this event is significant on the UFC calendar and is sure to generate excitement for fans tuning in.
