The hot and humid conditions on Wednesday, July 3rd, are expected to continue with a heat advisory in effect until 8 pm. The day will be partly sunny with the possibility of strong to severe storms developing in the mid to late afternoon. These storms may bring damaging winds and heavy rain. The high is predicted to reach 92 degrees, with a heat index in the low 100s.

Independence Day on Thursday will bring more showers and storms, but temperatures will not be as hot. There is a chance that fireworks displays may see some storms in the evening, but they are expected to clear out before the display begins. The sunset is at 9:08 pm, with temperatures dropping to the middle 70s.

The current heat index values are already reaching the middle 90s due to strong southwest winds and tropical dew points. It’s crucial to stay hydrated during these hot and humid conditions. The warm-up is a result of a cold front approaching later tonight, which will trigger showers and thunderstorms. Some of these storms may be strong to severe, with damaging winds, heavy rain, frequent lightning all possible threats. The best chance for severe storms is expected between 4 pm and 11 pm.

As the front lingers in the area and eventually moves north on Thursday, more scattered showers and storms are expected for Independence Day celebrations. Friday will see another cold front bringing more rain and stronger thunderstorms potentially occurring in this region of your area. However, by Saturday less humid air is expected to return, resulting in dry conditions and seasonal temperatures in the middle 80’S range . Overall, it looks like it’ll be an active few days but nice weekend ahead!
