At just 29 years old, Thompson has had an illustrious career with 15 wins since turning pro in 2010. One of her most notable victories came at the 2014 Chevron Championship, which was a major victory. However, in recent years, she has faced challenges in tournaments and her last LPGA Tour win was in 2019.

Despite these struggles, Thompson remains a force on the tour and made headlines just before her 18th consecutive appearance at the U.S. Women’s Open at Lancaster Country Club in Pennsylvania. It is worth noting that Thompson qualified for the U.S. Women’s Open at just 12 years old in 2007, making her the youngest golfer to ever participate in the tournament at that time.

Thompson’s legacy in golf is already significant as she has won numerous prestigious events such as the U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship in 2008 and earned her first LPGA victory at the Navistar LPGA Classic in 2010. She has also represented the United States in prestigious events like the Solheim Cup and U.S Olympic team which shows how much she has achieved throughout her career
