The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 began with a thrilling match between the United States of America (USA) and Canada at Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas. USA captain Monank Patel won the toss and chose to bowl first in the tournament opener against Canada.
The two teams have a rich history dating back to 1844 when they played the first-ever international cricket match at St. George’s Cricket Club in New York. As this is their first meeting in an ICC World Cup event, both teams are eager to showcase their skills on the global stage.
The USA team comes into the tournament with confidence after winning a T20I series against Bangladesh and defeating Canada 4-0 in a series earlier this year in Houston. On the other hand, Canada has been preparing for this moment for months and will look to prove themselves as a force to be reckoned with.
