Utah Utes Secure Commitments from Two Top-Ranked Linebackers in Class of 2025, Strengthening Recruiting Efforts

Utah Lands 4-star Linebacker Christian Thatcher

On October 15, 2022, the Utah Utes prepared for their game against USC at Rice Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City. The atmosphere was electric as the teams geared up for an exciting matchup.

On Sunday, Utah had a successful day on the recruiting front, securing commitments from two linebackers in the class of 2025. First, they received a pledge from four-star Las Vegas linebacker Christian Thatcher, followed by a commitment from three-star Hawaii linebacker Max Fonoimoana.

Thatcher is highly regarded and ranked as the sixth-best linebacker in the 2025 class by ESPN. In his junior season at Arbor View High School, he recorded impressive stats with 95 tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks, and an interception in just seven games. His performance caught the attention of recruiting services like Rivals and 247Sports, who also ranked him among the top linebackers in his class.

With Thatcher’s commitment, Utah now has eight pledges in the class of 2025, including a talented group of players at various positions. This recruiting success bodes well for the future of the Utes as they aim to build a strong team for upcoming seasons.
