UTSA head coach Jeff Traylor has been named the top head coach in the American Athletic Conference for the 2024 season by Athlon Sports. This selection was made by senior college football writer and editor Steve Lassan, who praised Traylor’s achievements at UTSA.
Under Traylor’s leadership, UTSA has had great success in the past four seasons, with a 39-14 record and a winning percentage of .736. The team has won two conference championships and participated in four consecutive bowl games, including a 35-17 victory over Marshall in the 2023 Frisco Bowl. In addition to their on-field accomplishments, UTSA athletes have received numerous awards and honors under Traylor’s coaching, including seven All-Americans and three national award finalists. The team has also excelled academically, with achievements such as three College Sports Communicators Academic All-Americans and four conference all-academic team selections.
The 2024 season for UTSA kicks off on Saturday, August 31, with a game against Kennesaw State at 2:30 p.m. at the Alamodome. Fans can purchase season tickets online or by contacting the UTSA Ticket Office. Season tickets start at $90 per seat, with payment plans available. Current UTSA students can attend home games for free by downloading tickets through their Account Manager.
